Stumbling onto something new can trigger a burst of creativity such as these recent favorite finds.
A trip down Dixie Highway is always a must when popping into Palm Beach. My most recent visit was especially lucky.
There must be a steady stream of redecorating happening in Palm Beach on a regular basis. Lucky for the rest of us who happily cart away their castoffs. I found two pairs of Fortuny curtains for an unbelievable price. There isn’t a bad Fortuny fabric, but I have long considered this large scale brown and gold pattern.
One never knows what to expect on Dixie Highway. The cherub sconces before look like they could be from any number of the Spanish–style mansions.
A pair of Egyptian-style chairs were unexpected. I can’t wait to visit again and see what surprises await.
Lewis & Wood makes some wonderful designs for fabric and wallpaper. Wild Things above is available in either.
All three colorways are saturated with rich color. Difficult to choose.
California is always an inspiration.
Somehow I missed knowing about Flamingo Estate. Watch the video to see multiple views into this interesting house. It is inspired by Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Bergé, Jean Cocteau, Bill Willis, and Jacques Grange. At least to my eye.
The bath house.
Vivid lipstick red contrasts with the cool turquoise pool water.
Cement tile is one of my favorite finishes particularly in Florida. The surface is smooth and cool to the touch. The color options are many. For a new project, I have been playing out with some blues for a guest bathroom.
Bedside Matters.
Although this book was published in 1992, I have just learned of it. It is a very interesting read about the wild woman full of passion and creativity within each of us women.
Next up will be Devil in the Grove. Some friends are initiating The Empty Nester’s Society for Wine & Literature beginning in September. This book about the KKK amongst the citrus groves is our first book. Despite the distressing subject, the company and wine will make for an enjoyable night. I committed at the word wine.
