Design Inspiration: Thinking about…fabric

Just like in fashion, the Spring and Fall seasons mean new collections of fabric and wall covering coming out for us designers to view and order for new projects.

Living in Orlando without a design center means that the reps from Dania travel up to us a few times a year to bring us these new products and inspiration. Recently, I met with our rep from the Jerry Pair showroom. Below are a few fabrics and wall coverings, all from Pierre Frey, that caught my eye for some Casa V Interiors upcoming projects.

Linen velvet is a favorite fabric of mine. This pattern comes in the most beautiful color ways.

The wall covering on the left is a subtle weave that feels very organic and natural. It is just interesting enough with its tone on tone irregular and unpredictable version of stripes.

The three on the right, I love for their ethnic African feel. Both coverings would be the perfect background for artwork.

In this photo, the top left fabric looks, from a distance, as if it is embroidered, but it is actually woven. The other three are machine-stitched. I always prefer found vintage textiles, particularly embroidered ones, but these are very handsome. I would definitely use these for interesting pillows or other detailed items. They would look great mixed in with vintage fabrics or mismatched patterns.
