Pull up chairs

A single pull up chair can add a punch of color or a touch of quirkiness to a room.

Yesterday I saw this quirky chair on Pinterest. I absolutely love it! It is a little Moroccan in feel and a show stopping color. This would be a perfect addition to a room in my house that could use one more pull up chair. My room is white with a black and white tiled floor. A jolt of green would be just right.

The Pinterest chair reminds me of another quirky chair within La Mamounia Hotel, in Marrakech. Sadly, I have not been and must be content with looking at the fantastic book. The chair there is perfectly exotic, unique and representative of its location. No surprise as this beautiful renovation was the work of Jacques Grange.

Adding in a pull up chair is an easy way to loosen up an interior.

Having a single off chair in the mix keeps a room from feeling overly designed of which I am not a fan. I love to buy one of a kind, interesting chairs. They are easy to acquire as you only need one, and they allow you to have a little fun. You can always use another chair to pull up for extra guests or to tuck into a living or bedroom.

Monsieur Grange is particularly interesting to me because of his approach to furniture plans. I enjoy perusing his book and observing how he positions his chairs. His layouts are not stiff but inviting – encouraging one to come in, sit down, and enjoy the space. Often we position chairs in a pair, rigidly lined up perpendicular to the sofa. I enjoy the seemingly just pulled up feel of his chairs.
